Kalanchoe Marmorata

Penwiper plant (Kalanchoe marmorata) is a beautiful glabrous succulent herbs almost shrub-like 30-40 tall and wide, when it is growing in container, but it reaches 120 cm into the wild. It is named for its highly coloured leaves with brownish purple blotches, which look a little like blotting paper. The erect inflorescences grow up to 10 cm in length and bears delicate starry white, four-petalled flowers, sometimes tinged with pink, in spring


Caring For Kalanchoe Marmorata

1) Light: Pen Wiper Plant grows best in bright light to full sunlight. 2) Water: Water Pen Wiper Plant thoroughly during the hot season and allow the top 1-2 in. of soil to dry out between waterings. Water very infrequently in the cold months. Avoid waterlogging which may lead to root-rot. Avoiding wetting the leaves as it can lead to rotting. Watering from the bottom is safer. Use room temperature water to avoid shocking the plant

3) Soil: Succulents need good draining soil. For container planting you can purchase cactus soil or incorporate sand, gravel or volcanic rock for better drainage

4) Temperature: Average warmth temperatures between 16-260C are ideal for Pen Wiper Plant. The sudden change in temperature between day and night is excellent for this succulent

5) Fertilizer: Feed Pen Wiper Plant monthly during the growing period with a water-soluble fertilizer. Withhold feeding in the cold season as growth is minimal
